About Me

Libby W.: I'm a northern transplant living in the south, and I have an unhealthy addiction to cookbooks. I love cooking and baking equally, depending on my mood. Spending time in the kitchen soothes me when I'm stressed. Relocating to the south, where I'm surrounded by barbecue joints, soul food restaurants and an inordinate amount of affordable fresh produce, has made me want to explore new recipes and styles of cooking. With dozens of cookbooks in my kitchen -- many of them unused -- I'm using this blog as a way to challenge myself to step outside the culinary box. Instead of fixing the same meals that have been in my cooking rotation for the past several years, I'll be testing out new recipes and sharing them -- successful or not -- on here. Although I'm making an effort to cook meals that are healthy, living in the south means there will be plenty of butter, bacon and sugar involved also.
